SEO implications of YouTube captions

Google has just announced a new service that enables anyone who uploads a video to YouTube to  also upload a text file of the words spoken in the video.
Google will turn the text file into captions. This facility will increase accessibility for deaf people and because it makes videos more searchable it should have positive benefits for SEO.
